Microsoft have been releasing a whole set of trial Virtual PC / VHD images on a free to download basis. All are time-limited copies which are great for training and evaluation purposes.

But there are some extras that do not always show up on here, for instance there are a set of Visual Studio Team System 2008 ones (with Hands on Labs)(these are set to expire on Dec 2008):
Much easier than downloading the trial software and building your own image. Thanks to the guys at Microsoft for these.
